Description

Succession has been conceived as a homage to the director of the Centre d'Art Nei Liicht and Dominique Lang in Dudelange, Luxembourg on the occasion of the solo show Divieto di Abbandono. The work is intended as well to question in a humorous way what will become of these institutions as she approaches retirement. After 25 years as director, she has not only marked the institutions, but has been a principal actor in contemporary art for the entire Grand Duchy.

The work is a set of 5 Russian matryoshka dolls. Based on current images of the director, it imagines the progression of a life from babyhood through to retirement. Via its title, it refers to the question of what will come after to the Centre d'Art.
